Now that the final text of the Anglican Covenant has been sent to the member churches of the Communion, it is useful to outline the procedures by which member churches and other churches enter into the Covenant. In reviewing these procedures, it is important to be mindful of the distinction between committing to the Covenant, which churches may do at any time through affirmation or adoption, and formal recognition of that fact by the other Covenant churches or the Communion Instruments.

And don’t overlook the powerful piece by Ephraim Radner, “The New Season: The Emerging Shape of Anglican Mission,” immediately below the one noted above on the ACI site.  http://www.anglicancommunioninstitute.com/2009/12/the-new-season-the-emerging-shape-of-anglican-mission/

Thanks for the tip on that Mike, I had missed it.

That was indeed very inspiring. Having taken stock of where we’re at and finally getting a bit of a breather from various pressures, I must say with a clear mind, that I am excited to be a younger person in ministry in this particular Church at this particular time. It is a wide open mission field both for academic and for pastoral/teaching ministries (even though I’ll probably need a tent-making occupation to do these things). The road ahead will be hard for various reasons; I know this and have experienced this and the fear associated with what lies ahead personally. And yet there is risk, adventure and ‘unknowingness’ about the particularities of how things will unfold which I believe to be an incredible gift from God. I am excited to be able to be a part of this. Thank you for this article Dr. Radner.
